Project Mexico - St. Innocent Orphanage Youth (6-17) Caretaker

Summary of Field Needs:

St. Innocent Orphanage is not a foster care facility, rather it is a home for boys that provides a family and support until they are grown men.  The orphanage, which provides a home to around 20 boys, is looking for caring individuals who can serve as guardians for these children, by providing afterschool help/tutoring, driving them to school or extracurricular activities, playing games, providing guidance and discipline, and being a trusted adult that they can lean on. Spanish language learning is necessary if not already fluent.

Length of Assignment: Minimum 1 year, preferred 2 years. May renew.

Reports to: Fr. Nicholas Andruchow, Director of Project Mexico/St. Innocent Orphanage.

Demographic Notes: Since 1988, Project Mexico has been building safe, secure and weather-tight homes for some of the most impoverished families in Northern Mexico. The associated St. Innocent Orphanage is located near Rosarito, Mexico, on a beautiful 16-acre ranch and was founded in 1996 by Greg Yova to provide a home for orphaned teenage boys. In 2024, the efforts of Project Mexico & St. Innocent Orphanage were expanded when the Casa Cuna San Felipe Infant Orphanage was opened.
