Ordination of Future Missionary Dn. Phillip McClanahan

Ordination of Dn. Philip McClanahan

“It was beautiful to see someone so committed to the path of missionary service filled with so much focus and excitement,” reflected OCMC’s Development Officer, Fr. Chris Rowe upon participating in the ordination of future missionary Philip McClanahan at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral in Wichita, KS on February 27th.

Dn. Philip and his family had driven from Colorado for the sacrament which was officiated by His Grace Bishop Basil and attended by two of Dn. Philip’s friends from seminary.

Fr. Chris further shared that, “as a deacon, he stood holding the washing bowl for nearly the entire Divine Liturgy, solely focused on Christ.” As a newly ordained deacon, Dn. Philip hopes to apply this focus, along with his experience as an evangelical missionary, to share the Gospel and support the growing Church and people in Southeast Asia through his life and words.

He will be joined in missionary service by his wife Kristiana, who also has mission field experience, and their three children. Please remember them in your prayers, learn more about their ministry, and support them at https://www.ocmc.org/McClanahanFamily
