Help share the Light and Love of Christ with all nations! The Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) is seeking to fill the position of Grants Coordinator as a part of our Grants Department Team. OCMC is the mission agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America. OCMC is a 501(c)(3) Christian nonprofit organization working to bring people to Christ, establish the Church, and share Christ’s love. OCMC works in over 30 different countries through sending missionaries, providing grants, and supporting liturgical translations to support the growth of the Orthodox Church worldwide.

The Opportunity

The Grants Department of the Mission Center is responsible for managing the distribution of over $1 million in grant funds to Church partners around the world each year. To accomplish this critical goal, the Grants Department is adding a Grants Coordinator to its team. The Grants Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the grants process and OCMC’s Support A Mission Priest Program (SAMP) run smoothly and efficiently.

What We're Seeking

You are highly organized and would enjoy a detail-oriented position where you are responsible for managing multiple calendars and deadlines for dozens of global projects. You will be the Department point-person for keeping track of incoming proposals, reports, financial receipts, and other project-related documentation. You have experience or the skills needed to create well-organized, logical filing systems, to ensure that project files are complete and records are easily retrievable. You can organize and present information in words and charts. Strong writing skills are essential, as is a basic understanding of Church protocols, because this role will have frequent communication with Church partners in other countries. You have excellent proofreading skills, both with words and numbers. You ideally have experience with Excel and spreadsheets, but if not, you’re not afraid to learn!

The right fit for our team will also have good interpersonal skills and can be counted on to communicate professionally by phone, email, and other communication channels. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, likes to problem solve, has critical thinking skills, works well as part of a team, and has good judgment. Main Responsibilities

  1. Maintain a system for tracking grants through the full lifecycle- pending, approved and closed, keeping track of where each grant is in the process and reporting deadlines.
  2. Maintain accurate and complete electronic records for all project files, including correspondence, project proposals, reports, photos, financial receipts, and related documentation.
  3. Create and maintain a master Grants calendar.
  4. Create and maintain a master record of past and current grants for internal reference by all departments.
  5. Serve as a key liaison between OCMC and Dioceses with regards to the SAMP Program, reviewing and verifying all incoming receipts and notifying hierarchs when documentation is needed. Maintain thorough and accurate files and records as relates to SAMP and participating Dioceses.
  6. Responsible for getting sign-offs on grant paperwork, including approval forms, wire requests, reimbursements.
  7. Correspond with hierarchs to relay information about grant deadlines and reporting requirements, and other information as needed.
  8. Schedule Grants Committee meetings, take minutes at such meetings, and share all relevant materials with the Grants Committee.

This person may be based at OCMC’s headquarters in St. Augustine, Florida or remotely. Remote candidates must be based in the U.S. and able to work during business hours (Eastern time).

Required Capabilities

A Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of similar work experience in a non-profit organization. Understanding of the Orthodox Church and its structure is highly desirable. A familiarity with grants is preferred.
