Building the Future of the Church in Guatemala

Construction of Guatemala's seminary and mission training center began in 2021 and is rapidly moving toward completion, with teams of local residents rotating through to aid in the work. This project has been over 12 years in the making and was the dream of the late Fr. Andres Giron, one of the leaders of a great movement that saw thousands of Mayans embrace the Orthodox Faith.

Currently, there are just a handful of priests ministering to the sacramental needs of hundreds of growing Orthodox communities in the region. The center will allow the Church to train and equip clergy and missionaries, who will bring the teachings of Christ to even more and more communities.

One of OCMC’s primary objectives is to support and equip local churches to train their own clergy and leaders so they can establish vibrant eucharistic communities and reach more people with the Faith. This is the prayerful intention behind the construction of this remarkable seminary and training center in Guatemala, and OCMC is blessed to be able to share in the Church's endeavors there with our missionaries on the ground and through support from our donors.
