OCMC News - Rhode Island Community Welcomes Jesse Brandow

OCMC News - Rhode Island Community Welcomes Jesse Brandow
During the Liturgy, Jesse invited the children up and spoke to them about missions.

On Sunday, October 13th, the Church of the Annunciation in Cranston, RI, graciously welcomed OCMC Missionary Jesse Brandow. They invited him to speak about his work to the children during the Liturgy, and to the rest of the parish in the luncheon afterwards.

Through this event, the community helped support Jesse's ministries. From all of us at OCMC to the Annunciation community: thank you!

Missionaries and Orthodox parishes in the United States need each other. Only by working together can we all fulfill our universal vocation to “go and make disciples of all nations” – whether by sending out missionaries, or by being sent out ourselves. When we host missionaries at our parishes, we strengthen the worldwide body of the Church. As a result, not only are the missionaries energized to continue their work, but our parishes are edified as well!

Annunciation Church is a perfect example of this. And not only did they invite Jesse, but they’ve already expressed interest in inviting another missionary next year too!

Without support from parishes back home, it's not possible for missionaries to share the Living Water of Christ with the spiritually thirsting around the world. If you would like to invite a missionary to come and share their experiences with your parish, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us! You can either e-mail us at missions@ocmc.org, or call us at 1-877-463-6784 for more information.

Prayer for Missions

God of truth and love: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Hear our prayer for those who do not know You. That they may come to a saving knowledge of the truth, and that Your Name may be praised among all peoples of the world. Sustain, inspire, and enlighten Your servants who bring them the Gospel. Bring fresh vigor to wavering faith; sustain our faith when it is still fragile. Continually renew missionary zeal in ourselves and in the Church, and raise up new missionaries who will follow You to the ends of the world. Make us witnesses to Your goodness full of love, full of strength, and full of faith for Your glory and the salvation of the entire world. Through the prayers of all the missionary saints, Have mercy on us and save us. Amen.
