OCMC News - Hoppe Missionary Family Visiting Supporters Across United States
Please pray for the Hoppe family as the return to the United States to raise awareness of, and support for, the missionary work they are doing in Albania.

Last week at OCMC, we were happy to welcome Missionaries Nathan and Gabriela Hoppe from Albania!

Over the next 2 months, the Hoppes plan to visit some of their parish supporters across the country. The relationship between parish and missionary is an important one, because it helps them both fulfill their Christian callings.

By sharing their work in the mission field with these parishes, the Hoppes give them a way to carry out Christ’s final commandment to all of us: to “make disciples of all nations.” By partnering with the Hoppes, parishes give them the prayerful and financial support they need to continue their labor in Christ’s vineyard. With visits like these, as they share their experiences from the mission field, they help the Body of Christ to be more closely interconnected worldwide.

If your parish doesn’t already partner with a missionary, please consider it! It’s all too easy to become so focused on paying our own bills that we forget our calling to make disciples of all nations. Partnering with a missionary both gives us a way to actively answer that calling and it allows us to be revitalized by first-person accounts from the mission field, of the work we make possible.

Thank you to all the parishes that graciously invited them, as well as to His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph, who generously gave his blessing to invite the Hoppes to speak at the Parish Life Conference of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of Los Angeles & the West. Below, you can see the Hoppes’ itinerary. If you’re in the area, consider going to meet them!

Prayer for Missions

God of truth and love: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Hear our prayer for those who do not know You. That they may come to a saving knowledge of the truth, and that Your Name may be praised among all peoples of the world. Sustain, inspire, and enlighten Your servants who bring them the Gospel. Bring fresh vigor to wavering faith; sustain our faith when it is still fragile. Continually renew missionary zeal in ourselves and in the Church, and raise up new missionaries who will follow You to the ends of the world. Make us witnesses to Your goodness full of love, full of strength, and full of faith for Your glory and the salvation of the entire world. Through the prayers of all the missionary saints, Have mercy on us and save us. Amen.
