OCMC News - Kulis Foundation to Assist Seminary Students on OCMC Mission Teams
OCMC would like to extend its deepest thanks to the John C. Kulis Charitable Foundation. They have awarded the Mission Center a grant that will allow for seminarians to serve on OCMC mission teams in 2018 exposing them to the vital work of missions while equipping them to serve people in need with the love of Christ.

St. Augustine, FL – “It is very important for us to sacrifice our will to God on a daily basis and trust that He will guide us in the right path,” offered one Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) seminarian grant recipient, who was given assistance towards participating on an Orthodox Mission Team.

In 2018, grants are available for seminary students, who will have the opportunity to further their education by working in the field, serving the Lord and spreading the Orthodox faith. Seminarian Mission Team Grants in 2018 are funded by the generous support of the John C. Kulis Charitable Foundation, where up to the entire cost of participating on an OCMC Mission Team will be covered.

The need to expose future leaders to the important work of OCMC is essential for a healthy mission-minded Church. The OCMC Seminarian Mission Team Grants provide opportunities for seminary students who may not have the funds to participate on mission teams - an experience that broadens horizons, strengthens leadership skills, and helps develop a vision for the needs of the world by sharing the Gospel in a different culture.

2018 Mission Teams will serve Orthodox communities around the globe. Mission Team openings include outreaches in Albania, Ghana, Guatemala, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kenya, Mexico, Uganda, and Alaska. These teams will offer evangelism, teaching, construction, youth ministry, health care, and outreach to those who are most in need.

Applicants must have completed at least one semester in an Orthodox seminary at the time of application, be in good academic standing, and demonstrate church involvement. If awarded a Mission Team Grant, the recipient will receive support to help offset the cost of participating, including airfare and a cash stipend!

The John C. Kulis Charitable Foundation is dedicated to the OCMC’s seminarian grant program, sending seminary students across the globe in the hope to strengthen Orthodox communities. Since the inception of the OCMC seminarian grant program, over 110 grants and $285,000 have been distributed, enabling Orthodox seminary students to participate in life-changing experiences.

Prayer for Missions

God of truth and love: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Hear our prayer for those who do not know You. That they may come to a saving knowledge of the truth, and that Your Name may be praised among all peoples of the world. Sustain, inspire, and enlighten Your servants who bring them the Gospel. Bring fresh vigor to wavering faith; sustain our faith when it is still fragile. Continually renew missionary zeal in ourselves and in the Church, and raise up new missionaries who will follow You to the ends of the world. Make us witnesses to Your goodness full of love, full of strength, and full of faith for Your glory and the salvation of the entire world. Through the prayers of all the missionary saints, Have mercy on us and save us. Amen.
