2017 Albania Teaching Team
Traveling From: 3/10/2017 to 3/20/2017; Team Cost: $1290*
TIRANA, ALBANIA -- Work with Albanian youth leaders and OCMC missionaries to host a conference for young adults from throughout Albania. Also reach out to college students in Tirana. Experience the transformation that Orthodoxy brings to the lives of the youth as you share Christ and touch their lives.
The 2017 Albania Mission Team will work with the staff of the Youth Office of the Orthodox Church of Albania to engage and connect with young adults from the greater Tirana area in a Diocese conference. The Team will also work with the staff of the Orthodox Student Center at the University of Tirana to bring an awareness of Christianity and the programs of the Church in Albania. Members will also visit various ministries of the Church and witness the Orthodox Faith as part of this evangelistic outreach of the Church in Albania. The Team will be led by OCMC missionary to Albania Dn. Stephanos Ritsi.
Help strengthen the Church’s youth ministry programs by contributing to its ongoing growth; to inspire, train, and equip Albanians to evangelize their nation and disciple their people. Team members will share life experiences and fellowship with Albanian young adults while providing a visible witness of the Holy Orthodox Faith.
Albania is a country where 70% of the people come from a Muslim tradition by being a part of this evangelistic outreach. It suffered the most severe religious persecution in the world, where all forms of religion were constitutionally prohibited. Most churches and monasteries had been destroyed; no Church infrastructure existed; and only a few clergy remained. After five centuries of Ottoman occupation and five decades of communist rule, the Church continues to make a remarkable turnaround. Today, under the guidance of Archbishop ANASTASIOS of Tirana, Durres, and All Albania, along with the help of Orthodox missionaries and dedicated Albanian leaders the Church has been resurrected and continues to flourish.
A background in youth ministry and teaching is requested. Applicants should be in good health and comfortable walking and using public transportation around town. Clergy, youth workers, college students and seminarians are encouraged to apply.

Share in a journey of faith... Orthodox Mission Team members are challenged to view the world with God's eyes and seek how He wants to use them to fulfill His plans. This cross-cultural experience, combined with outreach, offers participants a life-changing learning experience. This experience is about people, culture and missions. It is also about prayer, for you and others; it is about God, those you serve, and about yourself, as you serve Him.
