Orthodox Mission Teams

In the summer of 1987, the spiritual needs of fifteen Orthodox communities in western Kenya, who had no church to worship in, received the first Orthodox Mission Team. Since that first team, Mission Teams have served around the world: providing teaching, evangelism, youth ministry, health care; building churches, homes, schools, clinics; and offering numerous outreach programs.

Orthodox Mission Teams are a way to share the joy and love of Orthodox Christianity with the world. Short-term Mission Teams are 2-3 week opportunities offering a witnesses to the Gospel of Christ by ministering cross-culturally by meeting the spiritual and physical needs of Churches across the globe.

Team members are challenged to view the world with God's eyes and actively seek how He wants to use them to fulfill His plans on a cross-cultural ministry that offers a life-changing learning experience. It is about people, culture, prayer, learning and missions through hands-on service.

Make a difference in someone’s life by fulfilling the Great Commission and helping make disciples of all nations. All Orthodox Christians have skills to offer and can be of great value to a Mission Team. Apply today!

Prayer for Missions

God of truth and love: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Hear our prayer for those who do not know You. That they may come to a saving knowledge of the truth, and that Your Name may be praised among all peoples of the world. Sustain, inspire, and enlighten Your servants who bring them the Gospel. Bring fresh vigor to wavering faith; sustain our faith when it is still fragile. Continually renew missionary zeal in ourselves and in the Church, and raise up new missionaries who will follow You to the ends of the world. Make us witnesses to Your goodness full of love, full of strength, and full of faith for Your glory and the salvation of the entire world. Through the prayers of all the missionary saints, Have mercy on us and save us. Amen.
