The worldwide financial crisis has left seminaries in some mission countries in desperate need of your financial support. Please consider making a gift to OCMC's Theological Training Program to ensure that future priests will be able to take the message of the Gospel to all nations.
“So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and asked, ‘Do you understand what you are reading?’ And he said, ‘How can I, unless some one guides me?’” Acts 8:30-31
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Every day, in places where the Orthodox faith continues to take root, young men are answering the call to serve as Orthodox priests. These future priests flock to numerous seminaries around the world where they will receive a theological education to better equip them to serve their communities and teach the Faith to those who will come to embrace it. They become vital to sharing the Faith with the millions of people in the world who have yet to hear the message of the Gospel. The OCMC partners with local hierarchs to support the education of future priests at seminaries in countries like Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya, and Albania.
Due to the difficult economic situation in Greece and Cyprus, many significant funding sources for these theological schools have been drastically reduced. In the case of the Makarios III Patriarchal Seminary in Kenya, they have been forced to utilize credit, withhold teachers’ salaries, and shorten the academic term for their 50 students in order to avoid closing altogether.
This year, we hope to raise $40,000 to help sustain these seminaries through the Theological Training program so that they may continue educating priests who will guide others to the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Please be part of this vital ministry by praying for our seminaries and students and offering a financial gift to the Theological Training program. Thank you for your continued prayers and support!
