Your gifts of prayer and financial support to the Orthodox Christian Mission Center this Lent will help priests and missionaries welcome people into the Body of Christ and take the message of the Gospel to places like Uganda, Guatemala, and Pakistan.
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises. (Psalm 98:4)
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
“I have never experienced a Liturgy that felt so alive and full of joy.” Many Orthodox Christians, like you, who have served in the mission field have shared these exact words when they reflect on the time they’ve spent with their brothers and sisters in Christ from a different culture. In the face of unrelenting poverty or merciless persecution, many people from Central America to East Africa to Southern Asia are longing for Christ in their lives. Through the Church, they share in the Lord’s victory over hopelessness and even death itself.
Great and Holy Lent is an expectation of this ultimate victory. The Holy Spirit prepares our souls for this journey just as He prepares people from every corner of the Earth to be part of the Body of the Church. And, just as we have a part to play in the Lenten journey, we also must help those who are seeking Christ. The ministries of the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) enable the faithful like you, who believe in sharing the Gospel, to answer their call to missions. I invite you, especially during this Lenten season, to support these vital opportunities.
The impact that these ministries can have is immeasurable. This year, for example, the very first permanent Orthodox Christian parish in Pakistan will be opened. In Uganda, the Mission Center is partnering with church leaders to not just spread the Faith but to empower the Church to be self-sustaining. And OCMC missionaries like Dr. Michael Colburn are developing software that can be used by the worldwide Church to produce liturgical materials in the language of the people who want to use them to glorify God.
Please, prayerfully consider a gift of $25, $50, or even $100 to ensure that the celebration of a joyful Liturgy will continue to spread around the world! Help others on their journey to Christ as part of your own Lenten journey!
Thank you in advance for your offering and for the innumerable lives that will change as a result. We pray that you have a blessed Lent and a glorious Pascha!
