T eam members help raise awareness of the importance of Orthodox Mission work. They bring experiences and knowledge home when they return from an Orthodox Mission Team. Mission Teams produce significant changes in the perceptions and behavior of the participants ? changes which are likely to increase the participants’ prayer, financial giving, and ministry involvement.
Communities at home learn from the Team members that Orthodoxy is not limited to a region, but is a growing, vibrant faith around the globe. Parishes that hear reports from returning Team members are often revitalized, and they become more involved in outreach, renewal and development in their own community. Parishes get involved with much needed prayer, in the emotional and financial needs of others, local outreach efforts, and missions and evangelism.
Short-term Mission Teams are an effective “hands-on” program for individuals and communities to implement the Great Commission. Through Team members, communities will become part of world Orthodox missions! | |
