Teaching – Tirana
Clergy wives and women lay leaders are encouraged to apply to this Team that will lead a number of retreats for clergy wives and women’s groups in Albania. Large group presentations, small discussion groups, reflection time and fellowship will round out the retreat. Topics such as the role of clergy wives and the role of women in the Church have been asked requested.
Help lead a women’s retreat program in Albania that will share the Orthodox faith and nourish women to grow in Christ. In 2003, His Beatitude Anastasios, Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and All Albania invited a mission team to offer the first Women’s retreat in Albania in this generation. Again in 2014, an OCMC has been invited to offer a similar ministry. Team members will share their life experience, provide fellowship and offer a visible witness of the Orthodox faith, while offering retreat style presentations on what it means to be a clergy wife and lay leader in the Orthodox context.
In the 20th century, Albania fell under a communist regime and suffered the most severe religious persecution in the world; all forms of religion were constitutionally prohibited and by 1991, no Church infrastructure existed. Under the guidance of His Beatitude Anastasios, Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and All Albania and along with the help of Orthodox missionaries, the Church is being resurrected and continues to flourish.
This Team will be lead by OCMC Assistant Mission Teams Director, Presbytera Renee Ritsi. Women and clergy wives who are active members of parish life are needed.
Share your Orthodox faith with women of Albania.
