The Moore Family

Preparing for service in Mongolia

Chris and Jen Moore are both Indiana natives (Fort Wayne and Kokomo, respectively) who were raised in Christian households. They each studied (and met) at Butler University in Indianapolis, where in 2004 Chris received a degree in music theory and composition and Jen a degree in English literature and composition. In 2005, Chris accepted a position at Evangelical Baptist Missions (EBM), assisting missionaries with visas and short term insurance. Meanwhile, Jen taught English at a secondary school in Ukraine through the Peace Corps, returning at the end of 2006. After their marriage in 2007, the couple returned to Ukraine where they worked for a year at a seminary teaching music and English, respectively. After returning to the States, Chris returned to EBM for a year and a half before pursuing music teaching full time. He teaches saxophone lessons to middle school, high school, and occasionally college students. Jen began working at a private secondary school designed for students with high-functioning autism and teaches primarily math, along with some literature and social and life skills. Chris and Jen are members of St. John the Forerunner Orthodox Church in Indianapolis. After participating in a summer mission trip with OCMC to Albania in 2011, Chris and Jen decided to pursue full time missionary service with OCMC. In November 2013 their son Andrew Ephrem Moore was born! The Moore's are excited about new opportunities to come alongside the Church in Mongolia, and with God’s grace will serve under the local priest there. They made a survey trip to Mongolia in July 2013 and are planning by God's grace and through the help of committed supporters to be on the field full term by summer 2014.

Prayer for Missions

God of truth and love: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Hear our prayer for those who do not know You. That they may come to a saving knowledge of the truth, and that Your Name may be praised among all peoples of the world. Sustain, inspire, and enlighten Your servants who bring them the Gospel. Bring fresh vigor to wavering faith; sustain our faith when it is still fragile. Continually renew missionary zeal in ourselves and in the Church, and raise up new missionaries who will follow You to the ends of the world. Make us witnesses to Your goodness full of love, full of strength, and full of faith for Your glory and the salvation of the entire world. Through the prayers of all the missionary saints, Have mercy on us and save us. Amen.
