Fr. Luke Mihaly
Fr. Luke Mihaly was born in New Haven, CT and grew up in Trumbull, CT. He has been a Danbury resident since 1988. Fr. Mihaly has been married to his wife, Bethany for 17 years and they have 3 children, Nicholas, Anastasia and Christopher.
Fr. Luke was ordained to the priesthood in March of 1989 and has served at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Danbury ever since. He graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1985, and received a Master of Divinity Degree from St. Tikhons Seminary in 1990. He also received a Master of Sacred Theology Degree from Yale Divinity School in 1999.
Fr. Luke is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Orthodox Christian Mission Center, and a member of the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas (SCOBA) Study and Planning Committee. He is the parish News Editor of the Diocesan Newspaper The Church Messenger. He is also the Dean of the New England Deanery.
Fr. Luke has traveled several times to Eastern Europe, particularly Slovakia, the Czech Republic and the Ukraine. Fr. Lukes parish runs an extensive outreach to the Hispanic community in the Danbury area providing the students with an intensive English as a Second Language program that is run throughout the year. Fr. Luke is also a lecturer for the Diocesan Readers/Deacons program that prepares men with late vocations for service in the Church.
